2024 Fresh meat mixer

ERD's fresh meat is aging!

Our newest skaters are ready for their first time on the track so, we are holding a Fresh Meat Mixer.

We invite any WFTDA-eligible skater, who's played less than five (5) bouts, to join us Saturday, May 11 at the Meadville Area Rec Center for a fun and learning filled day of derby.

The 2024 SEASON has begun!

We kicked off our 2024 season with a wildly successful first day of practice!

Joining us were vets with years of experience, 2023 skate camp grads (now rookies!) and a spectacular group of incoming fresh meat. We also have an amazing group of support staff which includes two coaches, refs, and safety volunteers!

This season is already shaping up to be one of the best yet and we look forward to seeing our league grow.

That’s a wrap on ERD Skate Camp 2023!

Our new skater program grew exponentially this year, and we couldn't be more excited!

Four of our 2022 campers joined twelve 2023 campers in various roles on 11/9 to put on our end-of-camp scrimmage.

Join us in giving them a final cheer as campers, and keep an eye on the track for their fresh meat season!

ERD at YOUNGSTOWN AREA ROLLER DERBY

Erie Roller Derby went head-to head with Youngstown Area Roller Derby, playing in their inaugural outdoor, home bout, double header! The bout highlighted many rookie and fresh meat skaters from both teams, giving many players their first taste of action on the track!

The game was neck-and-neck but in the end we brought home the W, closing out our season of official games on a high note.

Home Closer victory

We wrapped up our home game season, taking another win against Ohio Valley Roller Derby!

Thank you so much to the skaters that made the long trip to play against us in one of the most enjoyable games we’ve had this year.

We also want to say one final thank you to all of the officials and volunteers who came out to make derby happen for us all season! We truly couldn’t have put on such a successful series of events without your support.

Our home season may be over but the work never stops - you can still support us from afar as we travel to Pittsburgh and Youngstown in the upcoming weeks!

ERD ALL-STARS BRING HOME A WIN!

We took on WestCo Roller Derby out of Westmoreland County on July 22, bringing home another win with a score of ERD - 162 and WestCo - 99!

We can’t thank all of our volunteers and officials enough for making the event such a success!

Pridefest 2023

We were proud to be included in the NW PA Pride Alliance’s Pridefest Parade and festival this year!

Erie Roller Derby continues to be proudly inclusive of trans women, intersex women, and/or gender expansive folks on our team. We believe that all women deserve a place in sports and we aim to uplift, empower, and celebrate those who may not have an opportunity to participate in other spaces.

Home opener success

We took on Ladies Death and Derby Society on June 10th and had an absolute blast - bringing home the win with a score of 238 to 61.

Thanks to all the refs, NSOs, and volunteers that made the day so successful and big thanks for LDDS for making the trip!

THANK YOU DOLLS OF DOOM ROLLER DERBY

Over the summer, our friends from Dolls of Doom Roller Derby made the sad announcement that they were taking a break from derby. They were kind enough to support us through our season, sending some of their players to skate with us, cheering us on at our home bouts, and making a very generous donation in the form of skates/protective gear and cash.

With their donations we were able to get our our entire 2022 Skate Camp class and our 2023 Spring Recruitment class set up with loaner gear, which has allowed a larger group of folks to access derby at a lower up-front cost.

We want to say, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to these wonderful folks for their generosity. Roller derby is all about lifting each other up and supporting not only our friends but our opponents too and we are grateful to have met and played with so many amazing people from Dolls of Doom.
