erie roller derby vs reading roller derby

We hit the track at home again this weekend for some especially hard-hitting games against our friends at Reading Roller Derby!

Our first game was a sanctioned game between our ERD All-Stars and RDG’s A team. (Sanctioned games count towards team WTFDA rankings, which rank all WFTDA affliated teams regionally, nationally, and globally.) After 60 minutes of intense gameplay, RDG took the win with a score of 258 to ERD’s 44.

Second the Bayfront Bombshells took to the track against RDG’s B team. It was an absolute NAIL BITER of a game! With the score never more than 15 points apart, it was anyone’s game to win. In a dramatic final jam RDG put up 20 points to eke in the win at 136 to the Bombshell’s 132.

You can see by our faces that, even though we didn’t take home the wins, we had an incredible time! Both ERD rosters will return to the track to wrap up our home season on Saturday, 9/20. Grab your tickets here!

Erie All-stars at black diamond

We hit the road again and brought the heat, travelling to Elmira, NY to take on the Dolls of Destruction!

It was a scorcher of a day and both teams sweated it out, giving all they had and leaving it all on the track. At the final whistle, with all the points tallied, we ended up on top, taking home another win!

Massive thanks to the Dolls for hosting and to our travel crew and fans who cheered us on from near and far — we felt the love!

Catch us at our home opener on August 30th!

2025 Home opener

We kicked off our 2025 home bout season with an action-packed, Pride-themed double header! We hosted our friends from Athens, Ohio, who brought their Appalachian Hellbetties and Diamond Betties all the way from the Southeastern border of OH. Athens brought the heat, ultimately taking home the win in both games!

It was a momentous occasion for several ERD skaters who took the track in their very first game - all skaters who kicked off their derby journey in our 2024 Skate Camp. We’re so proud of them!

Congrats to ERD’s MVPs - Scooter and Gears (Game 1), Diva and Minnie (Game 2)!

A heartfelt thank you and congratulations to all of the officials, volunteers, spectators, and athletes who made the day so special - we couldn’t do all this without your support!

We’ll be traveling to Olean, NY July 12 to face off against our friends at Enchanted Mountain Roller Derby - see you on the track!

bombshells at the bombers

ERD took a trip South again this weekend to visit our friends at Steel City Roller Derby, taking on the Blitzburgh Bombers!

The game was neck-and-neck, with the score at the half leaving ERD down by 30. The Bombshells clawed their way back, fighting for every point. The game came down to the final jam - it was all tied up, the Bombers get lead but the jammer gets a penalty, resulting in a two-minute jam!

ERD’s contingent of blockers held the Bombers’ jammer long enough for Butch Lite to score just enough points to carry the team to victory at the last whistle.

Amazing job all around from both teams!

Congrats to ERD’s McQueen for receiving the game’s spirit award!

2025 fresh meat mixer

We kicked off June with a mash up scrimmage featuring skaters from the tri-state area! New skaters from Athens Ohio Roller Derby, Steel City Roller Derby, and Ohio Roller Derby took the track with ERD’s own freshies, facing off in a super competitive game filled with smiles and camaraderie.

It was back and forth until the end with Black finishing in the lead at the last whistle! Congrats to the game’s MVPs and to the skaters who took the track for the first time in competitive play!

ERIE TRAVELS TO WEST VIRGINIA

ERD hit the road again for the second game of the 2025 season, traveling to Huntington, WV to take on Chemical Valley Roller Derby!

This was a game of legends and the epitome of roller derby camaraderie, with both teams leaving their hearts on the track and smiles on their faces.

It was an incredibly competitive game and at any moment the score could have gone the other direction but ERD held on tight and pulled out the first win of the season!

Congrats to all the skaters who played their hearts out and especially to ERD’s Lucretia Rott (MVP Blocker) and Gear Grinder WD #40 (MVP Jammer)!

ERIE TAKES ON THE GHOULS

ERD All-Stars headed down to Neville Island in Pittsburgh, PA over the weekend, taking on Pittsburgh Roller Derby’s Ghouls!

It was a fast paced and hard hitting game and in the end the Ghouls came out victorious!

Congrats to ERD skaters Teezer (Jammer) and Lucretia Rott (Blocker) for taking home their well-deserved MVPs!

Catch ERD on the road next month as we travel to Chemical Valley Roller Derby out of Huntington, WV on May 17!
